It won’t be too much longer before Mortal Kombat 11 officially launches across multiple platforms, with information about the forthcoming fighting game from NetherRealm Studios now coming in at what seems to be a steady clip. Today, in fact, Mortal Kombat 11‘s trophy list leaked online, unveiling a plethora of details regarding the title, with one particular detail being the hint that Kitana will be returning as playable character in the game’s base roster.
According to the leaked trophy list, players can execute tasks in Mortal Kombat 11 that unlock the Bronze trophy “Princess Power” by performing two different fatalities with the steel fan-blade wielding character Kitana. Should the leaked list of trophies be accurate, then this would mean that Kitana is indeed going to be one of the playable characters that one can select from Mortal Kombat 11‘s roster.
As it so happens, Kitana has made previous appearances in promotional materials related to Mortal Kombat 11, but she has yet to receive a full reveal featuring any actual gameplay of her in action against another opponent. For instance, Kitana showed up briefly alongside Liu Kang and Kung Lao in Mortal Kombat 11‘s “Old Skool vs. New Skool” trailer, which debuted during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s first episode of its new live stream series known as State of Play.
In addition to the possibility of Kitana coming back to the fighting game franchise in Mortal Kombat 11, the leaked trophy list also presented the potential for MK11 to revive Animality finishers. While this has yet to be officially confirmed, with creative director Ed Boon having previously teased the return Babalities, there’s always the chance that Animalities could be resuscitated, too.
All things considered, we will simply have to sit tight and see if Kitana does indeed make the cut for Mortal Kombat 11‘s finalized roster. Nevertheless, the wait won’t be too much longer, as MK11 set is set to release in just a few weeks from now.
Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to launch on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
